Scholarship and Award Information

The Annual Meeting Scholarship  provides financial assistance to selected members each year in the amount not to exceed $750 each. This scholarship is to be used to offset annual meeting expenses such as room, registration, transportation and meals. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Involvement in the profession of medical staff services for at least 1 year prior to application.
  • Current membership in WAMSS.
  • Not currently a member of the WAMSS Board or WAMSS Scholarship Committee.
  • The applicant must have not received WAMSS registration scholarship funding within the past three years.

The Certification Exam Scholarship Application provides financial assistance to chosen WAMSS members seeking NAMSS certification. Scholarships in the amount of $350 for NAMSS members, or $475 for non NAMSS members, per person are awarded.  To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Involvement in the profession of medical staff services for at least one year prior to application.
  • Current Active member of WAMSS.
  • Not currently a member of the WAMSS Board or WAMSS Scholarship Committee.
  • Currently seeking certification in the field of medical staff services. Must be actively studying for the exam, either by being involved in a Study Group or using Study Guide Material.

The Judy Kleckner Scholarship provides financial assistance to two WAMSS members per year in an amount not to exceed $500 each. To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Certification as a Certified Medical Staff Coordinator or a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist.
  • Involvement in the profession of medical staff services.
  • Current membership in WAMSS
  • Not currently a member of the WAMSS Board or WAMSS Scholarship Committee.
  • Current or planned participation in a formal accredited educational program, which will foster personal and professional growth and will enhance knowledge and competence in the field of medical staff services.
