This discussion will examine how several environmental forces—including individual consumer behavior, demographic and technological shifts, policy, and capital infusion—are reshaping the healthcare landscape and pulling consumers away from traditional providers. It will offer insights and recommendations on how healthcare organizations should be refining their strategy as we move into a “Brave New World” of healthcare beyond the pandemic.

Teresa Breen brings deep expertise in healthcare strategy to her role as SVP of Member Insight at Gist Healthcare, where she leads the firm’s development of strategic and operational insights. Prior to joining Gist, Teresa spent over 13 years at Advisory Board —now part of UnitedHealth’s Optum division—where she served as Managing Director and oversaw two national research membership programs. Teresa earned her M.A. from the University of Birmingham in the U.K., where she studied on a Rotary International Ambassadorial Scholarship and received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Teresa is based in Portland, Oregon.
