Position Summary:

In collaboration with leadership, this position plans, designs, evaluates, modifies and coordinates internal Continuing Medical Education (CME) programming for clinical staff in accordance with Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) requirements and standards.


  • Provides guidance to physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital staff through review, accreditation, and oversight of CME activity plans, execution, evaluation, auditing and reporting
  • Serves as a primary contact for internal collaborators and vendors involved in project activities
  • Creates and maintains activity files for CME activities according to ACCME requirements, standards of commercial support, content validation policies, planning policies, and guidelines
  • Coordinates activities based on concentration and prepares the education plan using planning worksheets, ACCME checklists, and CME Applications
  • Reviews applications, disclosures, speaker forms, and promotional materials for CME activities to ensure compliance with ACCME regulations and standards
  • Performs a variety of administrative functions for program
  • Schedules appointments, gives information to callers, and takes dictation
  • Composes memos, transcribes notes, and researches and creates presentations
  • Generates reports, handles multiple projects, and prepares and monitors invoices and expense reports
  • May assist with compiling and developing the annual budget
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
  • Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
  • Competent to meet age specific needs of the unit assigned

Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with an ACCME accredited CME program required
  • Project management experience preferred
